Drove up with a friend from out-of-town yesterday. We drove down to the NOC before fishing and had a look about. The river there was running quite high (but very fishable) and we thought we would see the same on the DH. However, when we finally got to the fishing grounds the water was not high at all. Looked about just right. It was gray all day and would spit intermittently. The clouds (fog) were on us most of the day.
Fished a good number of spots, all looked like they should hold a number of big fish but had a hard time getting anything going. Went through the box looking for a winner but no magic bullets today. I finished with 7 or 8, partner had 4 or 5 (a few drops each), nothing better than 12". Best flies were a #14 BHPT, #20 red ZM and a #12 peach egg.
