Arrow What's the scoop on dry fly hackle?

I know the price went way up a few years ago, but what's the scoop as of late? Does anyone remember what you could get a silver grade 1/2 saddle for a few years ago? I know I've been seeing Whiting Farms silver grade 1/2 saddle around $40-45.

There are several factors, one is of course is labor. The next is the cost of feed. I spoke to Charlie Collins, Collins Hackle Farm, the price of his chick feed is $440.00 a ton, that's commercial price. You also have to look at availability, or demand, many of the regional had to go out of business because of the high cost of feed and fuel for both heating and cooling. The price of corn has gone out of site because of the drought and ethanol.

Where Have All The Feathers Gone
by Peter, Paul & Mary

Where have all the feathers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the feathers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the feathers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Well, he did grace the world with Liv, so I can't completely hate the man.
